T2 core barrels

Double tube

T2 double tube core barrels are widely used and suitable for coring in all hard and soft formations, with water flushing and/or polymer fluid. The thin walls provide fast penetration, lower bit cost and larger core sample.
They are in accordance with the metric standards ISO 3552-1.1992.

All spare parts and accessories for T2 core barrels are manufactured from the best quality raw materials.
The inner and outer tubes are manufactured from cold drawn seamless steel tubes with very high tensile strength and straightness providing the same properties as our drill rods and casing tubes.
Core lifters (springs) are available in standard and in basket type. Basket type is suitable for very soft and fine grained formations.
Core lifter cases can be case hardened to increase their wear resistance, upon special request.

Available in sizes 101, 86, 76, 66, 56, 46 & 36mm.

TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS

The standard effective lengths are 3.0 & 1.5 meters. Other lengths and short starters are available, if requested.

**Other thread connections on head assembly may be manufactured-if dimensionally possible- upon request.

Complete double tube core barrels are supplied without core bits and reaming shells. They can be supplied separately.

T2 double tube core barrels can easily convert to:

• Single tube core barrels
• Triple tube core barrels (coreliners)

Single tube

T2 single tube core barrels are suitable mostly for homogeneous compact formations (e.g. hard clay) or for softer formations when high core recovery is not essential.
Flushing water comes directly in contact with the core sample washing it away and causing erosion -in soft and fissured/broken formations

T2 double tube core barrel is easily converted to single by using a position ring and a T.C. head –coupling (Fig. 1).  The rest of the parts are the same for both types i.e. outer tube, reaming shell, core bit, core lifter & core lifter case.

It is a very simple type and consists of

Triple tube (coreliners)
